Ninki Nanka

This drawing is part of a collaborative exhibition about criptozooology organized by Lápices de Madrid, which will be exhibirted in different cultural centers of the city.

The Ninki Nanka is a creature from north-west African folclore (Gambia and surrounding areas). It’s a huge reptile with a crocodile-like body and a long neck like a giraffe’s, with 3 horns on the head.
It is said to inhabit rivers and lares, and it feeds on children who carelessly play too far from the village and too clase to the water.
